The School Counseling office is available for students, parents, and teachers as a resource for a variety of purposes and circumstances. Students utilize the school counselor to resolve interpersonal and intrapersonal issues, peer conflicts, familial concerns, academic supports, divorce, grief, etc. the list is endless.
Support is available individually, in groups, through classroom developmental guidance lessons, consultation with parents, teachers, administrators, and community services. Students frequently refer themselves when they are experiencing problems that interrupt the learning process (personal, social, and/or academic). Students can be referred by parents, teachers, or administrators for support to those in need.
My name is Tom Spiwak. I have been with Enfield Public Schools since 1998. My educational background is: a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in School Counseling, and a Sixth Level degree in Counseling Psychology. I am certified through the Connecticut Department of Education as a school counselor (K-12) and I am a nationally certified counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors.
I am married with two children. My family frequently visits Boston (our second home!) to tour the museums and art galleries. We also enjoy hiking, fishing, motorcycling, and most importantly spending time together (Friday night pizza & a movie!!!).
I can be reached at 763-7545. It is recommended that appointments be scheduled in advance in order to properly address any concerns.
